It’s Time.

Posted on July 9th, 2008 by Simon Chen

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now.

Our new baby, TaguchiMail has been keeping me busy. And since I’ve closed the chapter on Eight Black (which is now a part of Catalyst), I’ve decided to finish the blog. For now. And besides, when you run out of stuff that interests you, you should quit.

I’m going to attempt to re-invent myself over at the TaguchiMail blog.

When the team tell me its ready, I’ll let you all know. (Actually it is, but I’m struggling to get my stuff pushed higher in the queue!)

For those that have taken the time to engage, I appreciate it.

All endings should be short and sweet. Especially in this digital age. I’ll see you all on the other side.

Where will we get our BlueFreeway gossip from?

    2. Simon Chen Says:

Fat Tony, its time to let go. Move on from BlueFreeway. It just isnt that exciting any more. Those that know me, know that I have A.D.D. I’ve lost interest…but you never know, if I hear something worth writing about, I’ll let you know. Cheers Simon

    3. George Lane Says:

Sorry to see you go Simon. I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog over the last couple of years.

You’re one of the few bloggers I follow who manages to pull off a compelling and conversational writing style without being hypey, insincere or just plain boring.

You’ll be missed. Good luck with Taguchi Mail!

      Cheers,

      George

    4. Brendan McNally Says:

Such is life; Thanks Simon yours is one of the few blogs I read word for word all others being scanned in Bloglines.

I’ll miss your to the point well opinionated diary style, Often used your Blog as a first source of fact or fiction checking (if Simon hasn’t mentioned it it’s probably not true)and being a fly on the wall (just a little) in the eightblack boardroom.

Well done Mate best for the future.
      Cheers, Brendan

PS. One question Should I Go iPhone 3G tommorrow or wait?

Thanx Simon for everything. Great stuff in BlackEight. Love all your insights, I’m sure everything you touch will turn into gold. Good luck and God bless!

      Hi Simon,

It is sad to hear the end of 8 Black blogging as it is one of the few I read regularly. The good news is that you will be back soon.

Your writing style reminds me of AA Gill, my fave food critic, so keep ‘em coming Simon.

      Michael

    7. Jon Whitehead Says:

Its a shame Simon, good luck with Taguchimail, and I’ll look forward to that blog when its going.

      cheers

      Jon

    8. Pete Noble Says:

      Simon,

I agree - have really enjoyed reading the blog. It’s the first one I look for each day. I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for the next chapter.

      Cheers

      Pete

    9. Evan Walters Says:

“Hey now, hey now, Don’t dream it’s over” - Crowded House. I’m never good at farewells so I’ll be brief.

Missing the end of this chapter is in a lot of way like my entire 8 black experience - a buck short, a day late.

I’ll never forget mornings at StarBucks, camping out at the x10 seminar, lunches with McCarthy Group, Ken McCarthy (has the world never met a better entertainer?)…

      Simon, good luck!
