Made In Melbourne.

Posted on May 29th, 2007 by Simon Chen

First there was Hitwise. Founded 9 years ago. Recently sold to Experian for US$240 million.

Then came Seek. First big break when Packer first bought in. Market cap now approximately A$2.1 billion

And now, MyLiveSearch. Yet to launch. Google sniffing. Apparently, its founder, Rob Gabriel is jumping on a plane next month to Silicon Valley to hawk his new technology. He wont have to go far. If the Google Aus folks are even slightly interested in what MyLiveSearch has to offer, Rob will asked to stop by 1600 Ampitheater Parkway for a chat.

3 out of 3 aint bad.

Hype, hype and more hype. Did I mention dishonest, conveniently forgetful and evasive? MyLiveSearch, your technology cannot succeed without the help of your industry — whom you treat so poorly.

Apologies for being off-topic, but I would suggest that any supplier considering working with the MyLiveSearch team to steer well clear. I know of people who haven’t been paid for ANY work, 6 months on, when they busted a gut to help these guys. This is simply an unacceptable to treat suppliers who only wanted to see them succeed.

      Rant over.

V.A’Noid, this blog has an open comment policy so all comments stay (unless they are really profane, racist, no where near the topic or criticise the Collingwood Football Club). I can only speak highly of the 2 guys beind MyLiveSearch, but I’ve not dealt with them commercially. If you really have a beef with them, pick up the phone and talk.
