The Real Big Brother…

Most search engines record the terms users enter, along with the time of the requests and information on the computer used. While the sites have adopted privacy policies that restrict how this information can be used or shared, there are few laws or regulations that address this issue.
This is an extract from this article from the WSJ (Wall Street Journal)
The article posed the question “should internet companies store search queries?” and invited a privacy rights group lawyer and a lobbyist that represents Google and Yahoo to thrash the question out in an online debate.
The article is a must read if you have any interest in “the database of intentions”.
Which is all the more reason I’m writing a book on the very subject.
