The 8 Top Things A Site Should Do.
Posted on September 26th, 2006 by Simon ChenMost people know I am a big fan of Seth Godin.
He posted an interesting article recently about the Top 8 Things A Site Should Do.
The article is here.
The challenge is a little greater though.
Most of the site owners I know (and some who have 4-5 million page impressions a month and generate close to $200 million per annum) still dont get the techno stuff.
Technorati. Digg. Squidoo. Reddit. RSS and even Blogging.
Perry Marshall, another marketing hero of mine put it simply one day in an email to me.
He said “buy good advice and then act on it”.
If you’re a business owner or a corporate manager responsible for a website, dont sweat the small stuff (some would argue that this is big).
Engage the experts to help you get on top of this. Because I guarantee you one thing, as soon as you’ve grappled understanding trackbacks, Digg, Technorati etc, something else will come along and you’ll be paralysed yet again.
The job of the business leader is to execute. The job of professional service firms like ours is to help you do this.
