Google Video PPC On It’s Way.
Posted on May 24th, 2006 by Simon Chen
It’s coming. And it’s official.
(Here’s the inside scoop from Mountain View).
Google is getting ready to rollout video based pay per click ads, based on their billion dollar baby - Adwords.
Apparently, CTR’s are higher (perhaps due to novelty) but things will settle down.
It’s the next wave.
No wonder Google have been busy beavering away with Google Video all this while.
Stay tuned. More to follow.

Simon, do you think video ads will equal adwords in revenue contribution to Google? Could this double the revenues of the Google empire?
I believe this move from Google will put traditional banner advertising under real pressure - maybe not here in Australia where broadband penetration is poor. But in leading tech countries it is going to have real impact as users are now consuming so much of the media (including TV) online.
