An Apple A Day Makes Google Okay.

Recent news is that Eric Schmidt, the self confessed “adult supervisor” at Google has just joined the board of Apple.
Plagued by stock option issues, Apple is looking to instil investor confidence and maybe Schmidt, the 8th Director now appointed to the Apple Board, can provide some of that confidence to Wall St.
I think it goes deeper than that though.
Apple and Google together just make sense. Both brands are quirky. Both brands hugely powerful.
And more importantly, both brands have been able to leverage “unbuyable” word of mouth marketing.
Keep watching the Apple and Google connection. It’s going to get interesting.
The thing I found somewhat intriguing is that Apple have released an official press statement but Google have not. It’s a newsworthy story and most of the industry has picked it up and of course, speculation is rife.
I know Google have never been great with the whole PR thing, but you’d think that they would want to make some sort of announcement.
